Pokemon Center Anaheim 2025

The Pokemon Center was a highlight of Pokemon worlds, as there was exclusive/limited clothes, plushes and other merch that could make your wallet cry.

Main mascots besides pikachu included jigglypuff, fennekin, and machamp. 

Since Anaheim/OC is near the beach, some beach merch made sense. But didn't make a lot of sense for most of the travelers.

 

I wanted the tank in a particular size, and although it wasn't available near the front, they had lots of stock later on. So be thorough in searching and don't give up hope immediately!

Originally I wanted Reyn Spooner, then saw the price of a shirt was over $100 and put it back on the rack.

Today I was on a King Hall First Generation alumni zoom panel with Alex and John, who were also first-generation college and law students (and now lawyers). It's great that UC Davis is setting up this group to help first-gen students, and I myself got valuable advice from Alex and John and also got the chance to reflect on my own challenges as a first-gen lawyer/law student. I forgot to advise the students to take advantage of the deals at the Davis Grocery Outlet, Bargain Market, but hopefully still was able to share some tips based off my experience working for state government. Lion King: 30th Anniversary at the Hollywood Bowl!

I happened to be in LA Memorial Day weekend and got to see: Disney’s The Lion King 30th Anniversary: A Live-to-Film Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. It is supposed to be on Disney Plus soon - and they filmed it with drones.  The highlight was definitely seeing Nathan Lane live, but also hearing Jennifer Hudson, Jeremy Irons, and I guess now I can say I was there for the moment nepo-baby North West went on stage... and it was something.  Buying the tickets:  I bought tickets for $25 each (including taxes and fees) around Section L2, as part of Rakuten ticket/concert deal- maybe 2 weeks before the show. There were a lot of seats left for the Saturday night show.  American Express Entrance:  General tip for Hollywood bowl entrance: The American Express line on the left is sometimes shorter than general admission. Hilton Moorea – Overwater Bungalow Review

The Hilton Moorea was one of the coolest hotel experiences in my life: staying in an overwater bungalow and sharing the turquoise ocean backyard with fish, sting rays, and sharks was incredible. While I was fortunate to be upgraded from a land bungalow, we still paid a pretty penny to stay at this property and the Hilton Aspire card helped cover several costs (breakfast, premium wifi, etc.) If you stay, I recommend having at least Hilton gold status (through Amex Platinum or other Hilton Amex card) to maximize covering costs. This Hilton is pricey and not exactly super luxurious, but being in an overwater bungalow for a few days really did feel like paradise.
