Boeira Garden Porto Gaia (Hilton)- Hotel Review

Boeira Garden Hotel Porto Gaia, Curio Collection by Hilton

I stayed at the BGHPG for 2 nights for my first time in Porto, and although it's not in the heart of downtown, I'd recommend it to Hilton Diamond members visiting Porto since rideshare is so cheap to get around, the accommodations were nice for the value, and the breakfast had a nice spread!

Location wise- we could uber to river area when there's no festival (but the area is still walkable downhill). This hotel included parking which was nice since we had a car rental. For those going just for Sao Joao I would maybe book the other Hilton closer to the river one or two days in advance since they might block or close the road to the bottom.

Grounds:

The hotel gave a complimentary drink ticket for a Porto Tonico!

The largest wine bottle in the world (it's a building?)

A king room with a balcony:

A small welcome gift - Tawny Port and 4 pastel de natas!

Spa + Indoor Pool

There was usually at least one person or family in the pool.

Steam room

Breakfast

Diamond members got complimentary breakfast at the "Roots" restaurant near the lobby. It went on til 10:30 am.

Pastries

Hot and some western food items -i.e. egg, bacon & Sausage

Cold foods including smoked salmon

Could also order omelette

Oatmeal and chocolate milk

A honeycomb - I drizzled honey on my crepe

Champagne - self serve

Port Tasting - Quinta de Boeira

The hotel also offered a complimentary port tasting at a port wine store on/adjacent to the hotel property + 20% discount.

Overall thoughts: The Boeira was a nice stay for first time in Porto and especially nice as a Hilton diamond member. If you really want to be at heart of Sao Joao I recommend somewhere closer like Hilton Porto Gaia or something near the river.
