16 hours in Singapore
Before going to Joey's wedding in Bali, Janet and I touched down in Singapore for 16 hours, which I used to basically preview my Crazy Rich Asians (CRA) themed Dirty 30 next year. Some highlights: eating at the CRA food market, drinking at the top of Marina Bay Sands, and meeting some of Janet's old friends!
Here's an hour-by-hour breakdown of my 2/3 of a day layover in Singapore:
6:34 PM | Land in Changi, go through Immigration, get confused trying to find pickup area for Grab (Asian lyft/uber)
Hour 1: 7:30 PM | Check into Carlton City Hotel - shower after 17 hour flight, change
Hour 2: 8:40 PM | Newton Food Center - we got picked up by Janet's friends and went to the Food Center where they filmed Crazy Rich Asians!
On our table: sea snails, satay, sting ray, chili crab, veggies, chicken wings, sambal, and Tiger beer. My favorite was actually the sting ray even though I'm not the biggest fan of seafood!
Hour 3- still eating/drinking
Hour 4: 10 PM | Gardens by the Bay
We made our way to Gardens by the Bay, and even though we missed the light show and most of the lights were off, strolling through these Gardens felt almost magical.
They did have Chinese decorations for the Mid Autumn Festival.
Hour 5: 11 PM | Marina Bay Sands
We went to the Rooftop Bar, Ce La Vi.
Hour 6: 12 AM | 18 hours bar, after Potato Head rooftop bar closed early
Hour 7: 1 AM | Al-Azhar
Next was Prata and Roti - so delicious, and this place was packed at 1 AM!
Hour 8: 2 AM | Boon Tong Kee - chicken rice and (something similar to shark fin) soup - 3rd dinner
The rice that came with the chicken was so savory and the chicken was tender and delicious
Hour 9: 3 AM | 7-11 - bought some waters, then went back to the hotel to catch some z's
Hours 10-14: Sleep, wake up and get ready
Hour 15: 8 AM | Amoy Street Food Centre - Breakfast
Hour 16: 9 AM | Walk to the Merlion
10 AM - Head to Changi airport to fly to Indonesia!
Overall, this was just a small sample [of food and fun] and I can't wait til next summer when I get to spend a few more days!

A short walk from Gardens by the Bay is Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
A Singapore Sling - basically sugar.
I tried a local Singapore ale, it was just ok- not as refreshing as Bali Bintang.
