January 2021 Favorites

Essentially copying Halika Dito and because I didn't really have a ton of content to blog about- I'll just summarize my past month by also posting randomly "monthly favorites."

Bridgerton - I'm a sucker for Shondaland, (I miss Scandal, and was meh about HTGAWM but finished it anyways), and Bridgerton featured sex, gossip, and classical interpretations of TSwift and Ariana Grande. My friends thought some episodes were basically porn. Anyways, although a few characters were annoying, I found Bridgerton fun and entertaining.

Other Netflix mentions: Finding Ohana (a cute Hawaiian adventure movie), and Bling Empire (the Asians are here!)

Ito En Black milk tea: I find these at my local Grocery Outlet [Bargain Market] for $.50 a pop, and these are a sweet but refreshing afternoon drink that gives me just the perk to power through the last few hours of work. They do have 32 grams of sugar a bottle, but I still like to think it's healthier and cheaper than buying boba.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (on Switch): I played this game 2017-2018, and spent over a hundred hours exploring, collecting, solving puzzles, and just being immersed in the open world. After playing Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity in December, I played the BOTW DLC and tried out master mode and the Champions' Ballad. I also watched my cousin live stream trying out the game for the first time. After she got killed by a guardian laser: "This is too stressful, I just want to do the puzzles!"

Other mention: Snack World dungeon crawler - a RPG that has some great puns- Covfefe cafe and a quest name with a play on Just In Timber Lake.

Steven's Trail: On the way to Truckee, about 45 minutes north of Sacramento is this moderately tough hike that has a nice view of the river, valley, and forests. It's around 6.5 miles roundtrip- and took me about 2.5-3 hours with a short stop near a secret ravine when I looped back. Also, the Governor was hiking this trail and we walked right by him, so that was definitely a highlight of my morning!

Dua Lipa: The hot yoga studio I go to started doing music in classes, and they play a nice remix of "Break My Heart." I look forward to hearing it as I do fixed firm pose.

Levain: I have copied these online recipes for Levain cookies, although I have yet to try the real deal! I still love the gooey chocolate and eating these with milk. I want to eventually try these fresh in NYC.
